A total of seven students from the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) participated in the 5th International Conference on Mathematics and Research Learning (ICOMER) 2025, organized by the Mathematics Education Department of FKIP UMS. The conference was held online on September 24, 2025.
ICOMER 2025 carried the theme “Innovative Pathways in Mathematics and STEM Education: Bridging Theory, Practice, and Technology.” The international seminar featured experts in the field of STEM, including Prof. Merrilyn Goos from The University of Queensland, Dr. Mark Angelo C. Reotutar from the University of Northern Philippines, Rini Oktavia, Ph.D. from Universitas Syiah Kuala, and Rita Pramujiyanti Khotimah, Ph.D. from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
Two master’s students, Yoga Tegar Santoso and Indriastuti Nisita, presented their research findings in the parallel session. Yoga presented his paper titled “Effect of Interactive E-Module Based on Constructivist Philosophy Towards Students’ Mathematical Conceptual Understanding of Curved-Solids Geometry,” while Indriastuti Nisita presented her paper titled “Multicultural Education in Mathematics Learning Based on Student Perceptions.”
The papers presented at ICOMER 2025 will be published in an international seminar proceedings with ISSN. The participation of students in academic activities beyond regular coursework is expected to broaden their insights into current issues in mathematics education research, both nationally and internationally.
